E.F Benson Storytime for Adults – RYE ARTS FESTIVAL
Join us at Lamb House, the home of E.F. Benson, for a selection of his stories read by actor Richard Crowest. This is the first of two sessions, at which Richard who will read extracts focusing on The Gentlemen of Tilling.
There is also an afternoon Storytime session with Rosalyn Landor joining Richard to read extracts from the Mapp & Lucia novels, including Miss Mapp and other works by E. F. Benson.
Tickets are £12 each for Morning or Afternoon Storytimes, or buy tickets to both for £20.
Storyteller: Richard Crowest
Richard is an actor and voice artist with over 30 years’ experience in theatre, radio and television. He also works extensively in the heritage world, and his voice has been heard in museums from Edinburgh to Barcelona. More locally he has provided the voice of Rudyard Kipling at Bateman’s, and has given many readings at Lamb House. His audiobooks of Saki and E. F. Benson are enjoyed around the world.
Storyteller: Rosalyn Landor
A child actress in the 1960s and 70s, Rosalyn has appeared in numerous films including The Amazing Mr Blunden, Jane Eyre, The Devil Rides Out, Divorce His, Divorce Hers, and worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Bette Davis, Angela Lansbury, Christopher Lee and Jeremy Brett. On television she starred in the definitive adaption of the Sherlock Holmes story The Speckled Band with Jeremy Brett, in Love in a Cold Climate with Judi Dench and as Fiona Always in four episodes of Rumpole of the Bailey. Rosalyn is also one of the most sought after voice actors and has recorded hundreds of audio books.
