E F Benson’s ghost stories are a less well-known aspect of this Rye resident’s prolific talent.

In Spinach, (first published in Spook Stories 1928) siblings Ludovic and Sylvia Byron work as mediums and they find they are never short of credulous clients hoping to communicate with the dead.

This creepy comedy has been adapted for the stage by Andrew Mayor and is directed by Patricia Driver.
