Martin Blackman is a Hastings born singer and guitar/harmonica player. In the late 80s, he and his brother Dave were founding members of the successful local band SoulXpress.

John plays lead and lap steel guitar, mandolin and banjo and has performed, toured and recorded with singer-songwriter Martin Stephenson for over 35 years and Novocastrian Punk rockers China Drum for nearly 10 years.
