Born from the loved and long-lost Rye Maritime Festival and the hilarious Rye Raft Race, comes Rye Festival Of The Sea!

This huge outdoor event is all about celebrating the maritime elements of our beloved town and has something for everyone – making it the perfect late-summer event for local families, visitors and beyond.

This year, our festival will be returning to The Salts (where the funfair is held) in Rye with the return of some wacky and wonderful festival traditions!

We have the return of our Raft Race – where teams from local businesses will come together to race to the finish line in their self-made rafts. Who will be the fastest and funniest and make a splash at being crowned the 2022 winner?

Our Tug of War will be returning this year, where teams, businesses and locals will test their might to take home the championship and show off their strength.

Not only do we have the return of our two festival staples but we also have the return of our Dog Show, where furry four-legged friends can get involved in the fun. Our market will also be returning with stalls from locals and beyond offering unique goodies for you to purchase and enjoy!

There will also be live music, kid-friendly activities and more for all ages to enjoy!
